MICROSOFT DYNAMICS 365 BUSINESS CENTRAL SENIOR FUNCTIONAL CONSULTANT

Christchurch, New Zealand | Contract, initial 6 months

saas nine is working with our client on a Dynamics 365 Business Central programme that is moving into its UAT phase now, with a second country rollout following next year. This is an initial six month contract covering UAT through to go live, with the second rollout to follow.

What you will do

Own the functional side of Business Central through UAT and into live running. Translate how the operation actually works into how the system is configured, rather than the other way round. Run test scenarios with the people who will use the system, work through what UAT throws up, and decide what is a genuine gap, what is a training problem and what someone has simply misread. Once the first country is live you carry what you have learned into the next rollout, so the second one goes better than the first.

The functional ground

Production orders, bills of materials and routings. Planning and replenishment, costing and variance, inventory and warehouse, and batch and lot traceability through to despatch. Finance where it meets operations, so costing, stock valuation and the month end. You will be the person who understands how those modules behave together, not just how to configure each one on its own.

What you will bring

Real depth in Dynamics 365 Business Central or NAV on the operations and supply chain side, on implementations you can talk through from configuration to go live. Experience of a UAT phase that was run properly, and the judgement to hold a line on scope when the testing throws up twenty things that all feel urgent. The ability to sit with an operator or a planner, watch what they do, and design around it. Experience on a second-site or second-country rollout is a strong advantage, and so is exposure to Aptean alongside Business Central, though neither is essential.
